COLUMBUSIGHTINGS: L&O SVU’s Chris Meloni Comes to Town 2 comments

Keeping up with who’s-who and who’s-visiting around town. From bonafide celebrities to our local icons, Columbusightings chronicles what VIPs in our city are up to.

Chris Meloni, of Law & Order: SVU, Comes to Town

Back in March and April this year, John Travolta’s new movie I Am Wrath was filmed in Columbus. That, you’re probably already aware of.

But did you know another famous celebrity was also starring in the same movie? A celebrity who managed to get out and about in Cbus without nearly the same amount of publicity and media focus?

Emmy award-winning actor Christopher Meloni, best known for roles on the long-running NBC criminal drama Law & Order: SVU and the groundbreaking HBO series Oz, was not only in Columbus (and for a while) but also left a trail of photographic souvenirs of his trip on social media.

Enjoy the photos (and Chris’ light-hearted accompanying captions) below, and see how many of the locations around town you recognize!

Like any good celebrity, he obliged some of his fans by taking an awesome selfie with them. This shot’s with a group of locals outside Old Familiar Barber Shop, on Parsons Ave in Olde Towne East.

Later, he interacted with one of our best-reviewed pieces of public art, found on S Front St Downtown.

Chris didn’t just take selfies while here though, he also took time to see some of our local landmarks.

That included appreciating even more public art (now from above!) along the downtown riverfront,

Visiting Cameron Mitchell’s The Pearl, a hip Gastropub on N High St in the Short North,

And finally, giving a (random?) shout-out to the Royal York Apartments, an art deco complex on E Broad St near Franklin Park.

Come back to Cbus any time, Chris!
